Saam Fu is proud to announce that our own Sifu Gordon Erquiza was honored with a Golden Dragon Lifetime Achievement Award from the TCMAF.
Martial artists from across the country gathered at the Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Federation (TCMAF) annual awards banquet on June 7, 2025 in Los Angeles. The Golden Dragon Awards were held to celebrate Chinese Martial Arts masters. These amazing individuals dedicated their lives to preserving and passing on their knowledge and venerable traditions. It was a night filled with admiration, demonstrations, and camaraderie amongst those with a shared love of martial arts.
Surrounded by friends and family, Sifu Erquiza’s many impressive accomplishments were recognized and celebrated. In addition to his numerous accolades, his love and dedication to kung fu, qigong and lion dance has earned him the respect and admiration of his students and peers.
At the age of 18, Sifu Erquiza started his martial arts journey with the acclaimed Kong’s Siu Lum Pai Kung Fu Association. Under the guidance of the beloved late Grandmaster Bucksam Kong, he has spent a lifetime honing his skills. He has passed on his knowledge to students from around the globe. In 2011 he, along with Sifu Brandon Tom and Sifu Jamie Tom, founded Saam Fu Chinese Cultural Arts in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Today, Sifu Erquiza perpetuates our proud lineage of traditional Chinese martial arts to students in Los Angeles.
Congratulations, Sifu Gordon for a well deserved honor. Mahalo for being an inspiration to your students. We are blessed to have you as one of the founding pillars of the Saam Fu ‘Ohana.
