Introductory Seminar

WHAT IS LOHAN QIGONG (CHI KUNG)?
Lohan Qigong (Chi Kung) is an internal exercise that uses movement and breath control to manipulate the flow of Chi along the body’s meridians. It is both a physical and mental exercise. Inwardly, it is taught to cultivate the Jing, the Chi and the Chen (mind, body, and spirit). Outwardly, it is practiced to build a strong and healthy body.

This Qigong seminar will be an introduction to the Sarm Bao Lohan Qigong system and provide an ideal starting point for anyone wishing to learn and understand the theories and application of Lohan Qigong.

All ages and levels of experience are welcome.

18 Lohan Hands (Siu Lum Sahp Baat Lohan)

*** BY INVITATION ONLY ***
There are five internal forms in the Shaolin (Siu Lum) Therapeutic Lohan Qigong System. The first three are designed to cultivate the three treasures: the Jing, the Chi and the Shen (mind, body, and spirit). The 18 Lohan Hands is the first form of the system and uses body movement to generate Qi (Chi). It emphasizes the extreme of Yin and Yang within its movements, where the terms hard and soft refer to the degree of limb extension and contraction and also to the rotation of the joints.

This seminar will include explanations on footwork, rooting, turning, and stretching techniques.

Prior experience with the 18 Lohan Hands form is required.

ABOUT MASTER JOHN
Master John is one of the Inner Chamber Disciples of Grand Master Chen Yong Fa, 5th generation direct descendent of the Founder of Choy Lee Fut Kung Fu and Shaolin Lohan Therapeutic Qigong system.

Master John was Chief Instructor for 17 years in charge of the Lohan Qigong department at the Choy Lee Fut International Head Office School (Sydney Chinatown, Australia).

Master John has benefited greatly from Lohan Qigong. In 1995, at the age of 60, he suffered from liver disease and had a stroke. He lost his sense of balance; his speech was affected and also had no sense of direction. Through Lohan Qigong practice, he gained back his balance, his speech is back to normal and his sense of direction has improved.
